Celebrities – they’re just like us. And if social media is any indication, they want Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez back together as much as we do.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard by now that Bennifer are probably, maybe, hopefully shacking up again. Two weeks ago, the pair were spotted together outside J.Lo’s Los Angeles home and then, more recently, snapped inside a car together in Montana. The former “It couple” got engaged in 2002, before parting ways in 2004 before ever walking down the aisle. It would appear that, 17 years later, they’re gearing up for a sequel and we’re here for it.

For some of the naysayers who think it’s all just a PR stunt – we’re just going to go ahead and call it nostalgia instead. It’s been a difficult year-and-a-half so let us return to the sweet comforts of 2002.
These are some of our fave celeb reactions to the news
Affleck’s BFF Matt Damon weighed in on the possibility of a rekindled romance between his bestie and JLo on the May 11 episode of Today. “There’s not enough liquor in the world for you to get me to say something about that,” he joked, before adding, “I hope it’s true. I love them both… That would be awesome.”

Comedian Michelle Collins went viral with this Instagram post that also landed a comment from Sharon Stone, which read: “Yeah I mean WTF A-Rod?”

Apparently Kevin Smith, who directed the former couple in the 2004 flick Jersey Girl, originated the Bennifer nickname.
“Bennifer” is trending.
It’s a name I first gave the kids during “Jersey Girl” pre-production, before the world found out they were dating.
I’d later drop the name in an interview with the @nytimes. Shortly thereafter, it appeared in the article and then entered the vernacular.— KevinSmith (@ThatKevinSmith) May 10, 2021
The real winner, though, was Bette Midler’s tweet:
#BenAffleck & #JenniferLopez might be back together? Aww. That's nice, but I was hoping that if we could bring anything back from the early 2000's it would be my pelvic floor muscles.

At this point, the only person not happy about this developing story is J.Lo’s ex, Alex Rodriguez. According to a source quoted in The Cut: “A-Rod is shocked that J.Lo has moved on. He truly thought they would be able to make it work and reconnect.”
