There are some stars who love to show off their kids for all the world to see. You know who they are. Hint: starts with K, ends in ardashian. Then there are the celebs who believe there’s nothing ickier than photos of their children available to anyone and everyone. They’re the ones who chose a public life, to be followed and photographed, not their children. The paparazzi may claim it’s their job to meet the supply of the gossip lovers’ demands, but many stars disagree. These celebrities aren’t whining about their lives; they are simply out to protect their children. And if that means keeping them out of the spotlight, so be it.

Diane Kruger and Norman Reedus
Kruger and Reedus don't reveal too much about their personal lives and share almost nothing about their little one. Heck, it's amazing we even knew this celebrity baby was born. But after paparazzi photos were taken of their daughter, Kruger made an emotional plea on Instagram, pleading with everyone to respect the privacy of their "innocent baby."

Halle Berry
A few years back, Berry testified before California's Assembly Committee on Public Safety to support a proposed anti-paparazzi bill that would make it illegal for camera-wielding supervillains to photograph children without their legal guardian's permission. Soon after it became law, Bill 606. Fighting the good fight for children Nahla (with ex Gabriel Aubry) and Maceo (with ex Olivier Martinez).

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck
Garner, who shares Violet, Seraphina and Samuel with ex-husband Ben Affleck, also fought for Bill 606. Because while the public may be curious about celebrity parents and their kids, it shouldn't be at the expense of a young person's well-being.

Adele
The singer is happy to share her heart with the world through her music, but the same can't be said about her kid. Adele and husband Simon Konecki never announced their son's birth, nor did they reveal his name. Leave it to the paparazzi, though, to figure out it was Angelo and took it upon themselves to share it with the rest of us.

Mindy Kaling
Kaling can talk about daughter Katherine all the live long day, but you've probably never seen what the little toddler looks like. At most, you've seen the back of her head or her feet. Nothing more.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds
Aside from the time Reynolds was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Ryan and Blake never bring out daughters James and Inez. Ryan might Tweet about parenting, but that's about it. Ha.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher
Kunis and Kutcher are rarely photographed together, so naturally they do whatever they can to keep their children, daughter Wyatt and son Dimitri, out of the limelight as well.

Beyoncé and Jay Z
In the early stages of Blue Ivy's life, it was rare to see pics of her, but now Bey takes to posting pics of her eldest daughter on Instagram, putting her in control of how much and how little we see of the kid with expensive style. As for twins Rumi and Sir, the same can be said about what we see of them, but it's considerably less than their big sister. In fact, we've probably seen them a handful of times, at best.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard
These two are totally fine advertising their love for one another, but when it comes to daughters Lincoln and Delta, they keep their identities hidden. When the girls are included in photos, they are strategically placed so you either don't see their faces or they're pixelated out.

Natalie Portman
The ony reason we even knew Portman and husband Benjamin Millepied were expecting back in 2010 was because the actress was cleaning up during awards season. That was son Aleph's most time under the spotlight. With her second child, she scaled back her time in the public eye — even skipping the Oscars in 2017 — right around the time daughter Amalia was born. All we knew was she and the baby were "happy and healthy." And, really, that info was more than enough.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski
A couple this adorable obviously produced two adorable children (daughters Violet and Hazel). Presumably. You'll just have to take our word for it because Emily and John don't go parading their girls around.

Scarlett Johansson
You might not even know ScarJo has a kid, but she and ex-husband Romain Dauriac welcomed daughter Rose sometime in 2014 — don't know when exactly because she keeps her personal life close to the vest — which is about all we know of the little girl.

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling
These two barely acknowledge each other, so if you think they're going to be publicly boasting about their daughters, Esmeralda and Amada, think again.

Kerry Washington
It would be easy to forgive if you didn't even know Kerry had children. During filming for her former show, Scandal, Washington hid her pregnancy under giant coats and behind desks and oversize bags. She eventually embraced her growing belly and showed it off — but that was it. She and husband Nnamdi Asomugha quietly welcomed their two children and the only reason we know that is because her bumps were gone. As for daughter Isabelle and son Caleb, they may as well be unicorns, because not one photo of them exists. It's almost like Olivia Pope worked her magic.

Matt Damon
Damon claims the paparazzi isn't interested in shooting a "married guy with kids" because "it's not that exciting." So maybe it's just dumb luck that he, wife Luciana and their four children (daughters Alexia, Isabella, Gia and Stella) have never really been photographed. Either way, lucky them.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden
Richie seems like the kind of celeb who would be plastering her children's faces all over social media, but after a scary incident involving her daughter, Harlow, getting stalked by the paparazzi at her preschool, the actress had to get a restraining order against one photographer. She testified that others had also "crossed the line" with both her and Joel's kids, Harlow and son Sparrow.

Julia Roberts
Roberts and husband Danny Moder make a point of living far away from LA and, instead, reside in a ranch in New Mexico. So that obviously is a huge factor with keeping their three children (twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and their younger brother, Henry) far, far away from the spotlight.

Pharrell Williams
Pharrell's wife, Helen Lasichanh, is fiercely private and maintains that same lifestyle for their four children. In fact, while we know their eldest child's name (it's Rocket, FYI), we know almost nothing about the triplets the couple welcomed in 2017, from their gender to their names.

The couple will happily talk about their children, daughters Vivian and Georgette, during interviews, but photographed? No, thank you.

Sandra Bullock
Bullock shocked the world twice (well, three times if you count the time she decided to marry that unfaithful scumbag, Jesse James). She adopted son Louis in 2010, then five years later, adopted daughter Laila. And when she covered People magazine, it wasn't to show off her kids but, rather, to promote the benefits of adoption and awareness to the foster care system.
