As viewers of Below Deck saw on screen, after being on the show since its debut season in 2013, Captain Lee Rosbach made his departure from the show due to health concerns.

PEOPLE reports that the beloved Bravolebrity announced that he would be leaving Below Deck on the episode that aired on Dec. 12. After facing some severe health issues, Captain Lee told the crew that he’d have to disembark from the motor yacht, St. David.

More recently, however, Rosbach teased in an interview that Below Deck fans haven’t seen the last of him yet. In fact, the beloved yachtie says that he’ll be returning to the show later this season.

At the beginning of season 10, Rosbach was struggling with nerve issues, but he had assumed that it would get better with time – unfortunately, that was not the case.

“My injury, it’s getting worse,” the captain reportedly said in a confessional. “The left side of my body, I don’t feel anything.”

“I expected a lot more progress than I’m experiencing, and the most frustrating part about it is, I can’t do a god d*** thing about it, and it’s hard.”

The episode was heart-wrenching for loyal Below Deck viewers, as Rosbach was confronted with the fact that his health concerns would begin to impact the entire crew.

“I owe it to my crew to do right by them,” Rosbach said humbly. “They expect that out of me.”

Shortly thereafter, Rosbach called in the entire crew for a meeting, where he announced his devastating departure, revealing that he “made a decision to leave the boat.”

Luckily, a captain from another Below Deck franchise was able to step in. While the hunky Captain Jason and Below Deck Adventure’s Captain Kerry weren’t the ones to step up to the plate, Below Deck Mediterranean‘s very own Captain Sandy climbed aboard to grab the wheel.

However, when speaking more recently with PEOPLE, Rosbach teased that he’ll be back later on in season 10.

“I made a promise to the crew before I left that I would be back before they were done, before the season was over, and I would walk on board by myself unassisted,” Rosbach revealed. “I’m happy to say that I was able to fulfill the promise.”

“That was a very proud moment for me,” he added. “I wanted to be able to finish what I started.”
