Although she already found her missing glass slipper, Brandy is readying her return to her famous role as Cinderella for Disney’s new Descendants movie, The Pocketwatch. Brandy will be playing Cinderella alongside singer Rita Ora, who has joined the cast as the Queen of Hearts.

“So excited to join this amazing cast and reprise my role as #Cinderella in the #DisneyDescendants sequel The Pocketwatch [sic],” Brandy wrote on Instagram, according to PopSugar. “Thank you to my @disneyplus fam.”

Written by Dan Frey and Russell Sommer, The Pocketwatch won’t be a continuation of the original Descendants trilogy, but instead it will follow new characters within the same universe.

The forthcoming Jennifer Phang-directed film will take place in “the hostile unincorporated territory of Wonderland, a magical, mysterious place made famous in Alice in Wonderland,” Disney explained in a press release.

The Pocketwatch will follow Cinderella and Prince Charming’s “perfectionist and athletic daughter,” Chloe (Malia Baker), and the Queen of Hearts’ “rebellious teenage daughter,” Red (Kylie Cantrall). The teens have to team up to travel back in time using the White Rabbit’s pocket watch to stop a destructive impending coup in Auradon.

In addition to Brandy and Rita Ora, the cast will be rounded out by Joshua Colley as Hook, Morgan Dudley as Ella (the young Cinderella), Ruby Rose Turner as Bridget (the young Queen of Hearts) and China Anne McClain and Dara Reneé as Ursula’s daughters, Uma and Ulyana. Melanie Paxson will also be reprising her role as the Fairy Godmother.

While Disney hasn’t officially announced a release date, we do know that The Pocketwatch will boast seven new songs alongside classic Disney tracks.
