Pete Davidson has a powerful hold on the brunettes of Hollywood. From Kate Beckinsale to Kaia Gerber, and now his newest GF Kim Kardashian, Pete has been a busy man when it comes to dating. When it comes to his budding romance with the reality star, the Saturday Night Live comedian has been linked to the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum since October, when Kim hosted SNL for the first time and the two locked lips in a skit. However, just as they’re starting to make things official, the internet is speculating that the two are only an item for show.

Several sleuths on TikTok are breaking down all the reasons they don’t think Kim K and Pete are a real item, after the two were recently spotted holding hands. A number of them feel the couple is serving as a distraction to take the heat off of Kim’s sister, Kylie Jenner, who is expecting baby no. 2 with rapper Travis Scott. Scott is currently being sued for his role in the Astroworld tragedy, where 10 people died.

User @gracereport said that she believes the relationship is fake to draw the attention away from Astroworld. “What does Kris Jenner decide to cook up to distract us from all of this mess? The most unbelievable couple in modern history,” she says. “We’ve known Kim for 10 plus years, and she’s never been the type to go for a Pete Davidson type.”
The Kardashian and Jenner sisters do have a type, and with the exception of Kourtney Kardashian’s ex, Scott Disick, it’s pretty much entirely basketball players and musicians. Kim was previously married to rapper Kanye West and before that, she was married to NBA player Kris Humphries — neither of whom are known for their comedic chops.
Twitter users are also convinced that Pete and Kim’s budding romance is a PR stunt orchestrated by Kris Jenner:

Some also believe that with Kourtney Kardashian’s recent engagement to Travis Barker, Kim was jealous and is using Pete to get back in the spotlight:

Sadly for us, only Pete, Kim and Kris know for sure whether or not the relationship is real or not. Kim can give Pete as many hickeys as she wants, but until she uproots her life and moves to Staten Island, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the couple to see if they start to get serious.
