Is this the random celeb coupling we didn’t know we needed, or was it all just business as usual in La La Land? Only the coming days and weeks will tell, but our curiosity is 100 per cent piqued.
Angelina Jolie and The Weeknd turned heads on Wednesday night as they were snapped exiting Los Angeles hotspot Giorgio Baldi together. The Oscar winner, 46, and Grammy winner, 31, walked out of the high-end Italian restaurant separately so as not to appear together. But the paparazzi snaps were a little too blinding: the pair have already sparked dating rumours.
Jolie looked chic in a black silk dress and tan trench coat while the After Hours singer kept it cool and casual in denim.

While some have speculated that it was just a business meeting — the Canadian singer has been looking to further his career prospects in Hollywood, including a new HBO series he has in the works — others questioned why they exited separately if it was purely professional. Fans of The Weeknd might recall, however, that he name-dropped Jolie (his “crush”, according to a source) in the 2016 song “Party Monster.”
In the verse, he says: “Ooh, she mine, ooh girl, bump and grind / Ooh, she mine, ooh girl, bump a line / Angelina, lips like Angelina / Like Selena, a** shaped like Selena.”
While it’s certainly too early to know for certain, a partnership between these two — be it romantic or professional — would certainly cause waves and generate plenty of headlines.
Although The Weeknd played a small, yet memorable, role in Adam Sandler’s Uncut Gems in 2019, it looks like the singer is ready to really test his acting jobs with a lead role in The Idol, an HBO series he co-created with Reza Fahim and Euphoria showrunner Sam Levinson. (We love the sound of this already!)

Jolie, who has been spotted with first hubby Jonny Lee Miller, is still battling in court with ex-husband Brad Pitt over custody and visitation rights to their six kids. The couple split in 2016. The Weeknd has previously been linked to Bella Hadid and Selena Gomez.
