Jake Gyllenhaal

Pour one out for all the Jake Gyllenhaal fans. As it turns out, being handsome doesn’t equal showers on the reg. Sadly, this Oscar-nominated actor is bathing-averse. In an August 2021 interview with Vanity Fair, Gyllenhaal weighed in on whether taking baths is essential, and the answer definitely shattered some hearts: “More and more I find bathing to be less necessary, at times,” he said. “I do also think that there’s a whole world of not bathing that is also really helpful for skin maintenance, and we naturally clean ourselves.”

Mila Kunis + Ashton Kutcher

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher recently revealed they don’t clean their kids unless they can physically see dirt on them, and our skin is crawling. We can only hope they realize that bacteria isn’t always visible to the naked eye. “I didn’t have hot water growing up as a child so I didn’t shower very much,” Kunis recently confessed on Dax Shephard’s podcast, Armchair Expert. “But when I had children I also didn’t wash them every day. I wasn’t the parent who bathed my newborns ever.”

“If you can see the dirt on them, clean them. Otherwise, there’s no point,” Kutcher added. He then explained that he does wash his “armpits and my crotch daily and nothing else ever,” although he does “throw some water on [his] face after a workout to get all the salts out.”

Dax Shephard + Kristen Bell

According to Shephard, who is not a dermatologist, adults should not wash their bodies every day with soap to prevent the skin from losing natural oils. While we know that this is true to a degree, (over-washing can be a problem if you’re scrubbing too often because you’ll upset your microbiome!) waiting to reek seems like overkill. He also confessed that he and wife Kristen Bell wait for their daughters to smell bad before giving them a bath.

“I’m a big fan of waiting for the stink,” Bell said on The View. “Once you catch a whiff, that’s biology’s way of letting you know you need to clean it up. There’s a red flag. Honestly, it’s just bacteria; once you get bacteria you gotta be like, ‘Get in the tub or the shower.’”

Megan Fox

Apparently, Machine Gun Kelly’s twin flame doesn’t have the best bathroom hygiene. Fox once told FHM: “I’m horrible to live with. I don’t clean. My clothes end up wherever I take them off. I forget to flush the toilet. Friends will tell me, ‘Megan, you totally pinched a loaf in my toilet and didn’t flush.'”

Robert Pattinson

This likely comes as no shock to Twi-hards everywhere, but RPatz once told Extra that he doesn’t see the point in washing his hair. While Edward Cullen may sport shiny, clean locks, the same can’t be said of the actor who plays him. Pattinson was asked to confirm the truth behind him saying he hadn’t washed his hair for six weeks, and he answered with: “Probably. I don’t know. I don’t really see the point in washing your hair.”

“If you don’t care if your hair’s clean or not then why would you wash it?” he added, then explaining his apartment is also not the most clean space. “It’s like, I don’t clean my apartment ’cause I don’t care. I have my apartment for sleeping in and I have my hair for just, you know, hanging out on my head. I don’t care if it’s clean or not.”

Alright, alright, alright… this is unfortunate. While we have no proof that McConaughey doesn’t shower, the Oscar-winner has come out and stated that he never uses deodorant. “I haven’t worn deodorant in 20 years,” he once told People
