The Freaky Friday remake with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, first released in 2003, was nothing short of iconic. From Lohan’s epic Y2K outfits and chunky highlights to Jamie Lee Curtis riding on the back of a motorcycle with none other than Chad Michael Murray, there are several reasons the hilarious film is so beloved.

For years, there have been rumours of a potential sequel, and now one thing is for sure: Jamie Lee Curtis has confirmed she wants to make it happen — and wants to once again team up with Lindsay Lohan.

While making an appearance on The View, Curtis revealed she’d been in touch with Disney about making a second film. “I’ve already written to Disney, my friends at Disney. I’m in their new Haunted Mansion movie,” she said. “Creatively, I am wide open.”

What would a second ‘Freaky Friday’ film be about?

It’s been many years since the film first came out, but Curtis already has a vision for what the potential plot could look like with her on-screen daughter. “Let me be the grandma, let me be the old grandma who switches places. So then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma, who’s still happy with [my on-screen husband] Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon.”

“I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I want to be a helicopter parent in today’s world,” she added.

“She [Lohan] just made a Christmas movie, I believe, and she got married… It’s all good. Bring it!”

Lohan’s new Christmas film, Falling for Christmas, is set for a November 10 release on Netflix, proving that the Lohanaissance is right around the corner. So naturally, we think another Freaky Friday film would be the perfect follow-up.
