There is so much pressure on female celebrities to look a certain way – straight teeth, tanned skin, slim figures, no wrinkles. Many stars fall victim to these ‘norms’ except a few who, despite the pressure, embrace their natural beauty and encourage others to do the same. Here are 16 celebrities who buck stereotypical beauty trends.

Teeth with Character
True Blood star Anna Paquin has a substantial gap between her two front teeth giving her an edge that a lot of other actors just don’t have. We love her unique look, and the fact that she has no plans to "fix" her teeth.

Teeth with Character
Kirsten Dunst loves her crooked teeth; she thinks her “snaggle fangs” give her character and that having character is sexy. We think so too Kirsten and we're pretty sure all of your fans would agree.

Teeth with Character
The Material Girl may be "Borderline" obsessed with controversy and working out, but one thing she hasn’t overdone is her teeth. The signature gap in her front teeth gives her that famous cheeky smile.

Curves
There’s no doubt, Beyonce is the queen of curves. She’s a trailblazer for bootylicious women all over the world. We also love that she embraces her smaller chest.

Curves
Known as buxom Joan in the hit show Mad Men, Christina has an archetypal Marilyn Monroe figure. Not falling victim to today’s skinny standards, Christina wears clothing that shows off her curvy physique.

Curves
Adele’s positive self-image is something many of her thinner counterparts might lack. When she was called “too fat” by designer Karl Lagerfeld, she spoke out by saying, “I represent the majority of women and I’m very proud of that.” With that soulful voice and incredible self-confidence, we think she’s perfect.

Curves
Baby got back! Kim’s voluptuous bombshell figure is highly desired by men and awe-inspiring to women. Her body type (wider hips, bigger bottom and ample bosom) is still not all that common in Hollywood, but she not only accepts her body, she flaunts it.

Against Retouching
Lorde tweeted two photos of herself from the same gig; one was highly retouched making her skin "perfect" and smooth, the other was untouched and shows her skin’s natural texture, pimples and all. She tweeted, “i find this curious - two photos from today, one edited so my skin is perfect and one real. remember flaws are ok :-)” Lorde is a great role model to all young women everywhere.

Against Retouching
Kate Winslet is very outspoken about her discomfort with Photoshop. She even goes so far as to ask for her airbrushed face to be returned to normal in movie posters and magazine covers. She said (in reference to a highly airbrushed GQ cover she was on), “I do not look like that and, more importantly, I don't desire to look like that.”

Against Retouching
Keira Knightly was given a digital boob job in the publicity shots for her 2004 film King Arthur. She called it right away saying, “…those things certainly weren’t mine.” It’s no secret Keira is not particularly full up top, so good for her for making it known.

Pale Skin
Have you ever seen Cate with a tan? Nope! That’s because she is comfortable in her (porcelain) skin.

Pale Skin
This fair-skinned beauty isn’t trying to get burned. Her alabaster skin suits her just fine, thank you very much.

Pale Skin
Doe-eyed and golden-haired, Amanda’s snow-white complexion is the picture of Elizabethan beauty.

Aging Gracefully
Jamie made headlines years ago when she posed for a magazine spread half-naked and sans makeup, without any photoshop. She wasn't trying to cover anything then and isn't now, least of all her crow’s feet, smile lines or grey hair. She looks pretty kick-ass to us.

Aging Gracefully
Talk about aging gracefully! Helen looks real and is absolutely stunning! She hasn’t gone crazy for plastic surgery and isn’t trying to hide the fact that she is in her late 60s. We only hope we look this good when we're her age.

Aging Gracefully
OK, she’s not a Hollywood celebrity but she certainly graces the covers of enough magazines to make this list. A couple of years ago she decided she didn’t have the time for super-polished hair and makeup. She started appearing in public au natural and her bare face and simple hair caused tremors in the media. As a leader for women’s rights we think she’s setting a pretty darn great example.
