They say it takes a village, and for good reason. While there are plenty of new moms out there on social media who fake it til they make it, Southern Charm star Cameran Eubanks definitely isn’t one of them. From leaking boobs and needing a break, to giving up breastfeeding and mental health, here are 10 times she got real about motherhood.

Women can’t have it all
Cameran doesn’t even pretend that she can have it all, and that’s okay. She’s been super real about her struggles to balance motherhood and work, revealing that only an “extremely privileged” few can manage doing everything in their lives that they want to without sacrificing something. “It's very hard 'cause I went from working and being able to work as much as I wanted to and now, well, I've got to stay home and take care of this baby," she admitted to People.

Wanting to work is okay too
Not all moms want to be at home with their babies full-time. And not all moms want to hire a nanny either. Cameran falls into both categories, and has tried to strike a balance between working (less) and being at home (also less). “Could I afford a live-in nanny? I could. I don’t want to,” she once told People.

Moms and dads aren’t always equal
Cameran recognizes that equality in the parenting department is probably better than it’s ever been, with plenty of fathers now staying home with the kids and taking parental leave. Still, that doesn’t mean they’re under the same kind of social pressure that moms are. "We're socially conditioned in this country that when a woman pops out a kid, she has to make the choice whether she's going to stay home or go back to work. And the father, typically, not all the time, is the breadwinner in the house,” she told People.

Breastfeeding isn’t for everyone
Nursing isn’t everyone’s jam, but you’d never know it the way new moms are pressured into the whole “breast is best” argument. Cameran was adamant to try, but quickly realized that it was making her depressed. So when she quit at three months, she announced it on Instagram to help other mothers feel less alone or judged. “I need some freedom back for my sanity and the bottle and formula will allow that,” she wrote.

Your body rebels against you
Like many women who get pregnant, Cameran experienced some positive side effects, like fuller hair, stronger nails, and bigger breasts. Post baby though? She’s been pretty real about how the boobs deflate and the hair falls out, leading to a scary shadow of her former, pregnant self. “It is just teabag city,” Eubanks told InStyle about her new breasts. “It is so sad: You are left with these deflated, just… ugh.”

Personal time is key
Before having kids, your time is your own. After kids? Well sometimes it’s easy to feel like basically everything revolves around your family. That’s why we loved it when Cameran posted her (now famous) video from the TJ Maxx parking lot. “Hello everyone. I’m alone… childless… sitting here alone in the parking lot,” she said. “Just got done eating some Chick-fil-A and I just want to let everyone know that I really took moments like these for granted. This is wonderful. I don’t wanna go home!”

You just want adult conversation…
…But it’s also exhausting to be around other adults when you’re no longer used to it. Remember when Cameran just needed vodka after leaving Palmer with her mom for a few hours and going to work? After having a baby, talking to other adults is oh-so-needed yet kind of hard. Cameran nailed that feeling when she spoke about being isolated and also needing a drink. “I have zero social life,” she confirmed later on during an AMA on Instagram. Sounds about right.

It’s the greatest responsibility, ever
Think about it… not only are you bringing this tiny human being into the world, but then you’re also sent home and told to take care of it. There’s no instruction manual for that. That’s terrifying for any and all new moms. As Cameran reminded us on several occasions, you don’t sleep and you’re constantly worrying about dropping the ball and something bad happening to your kid. As far as we’re concerned, that’s relatable and real AF.

Having one kid is actually okay
Cameran has been pretty clear about her “one and done” stance, admitting that while she adores Palmer, having another kid is definitely out of the question. “I can either give her a sibling or I can give her a sane mother,” she’s said in interviews. “And I think giving her a happy, healthy, mentally sane mother is way more important than a brother or sister that she’s probably gonna fight with anyway.”

Still, you love that baby like nothing ever before
As real as those hard motherhood moments can be, there’s still one massive payoff: the love you feel for your child. Cameran has also delivered on that front, posting pictures of her and Palmer snuggling with captions like, “Best part of my day” or going on and on about how beautiful her babe’s bald little head is. “So far 7 months has been my favourite,” she even shared at one point. “I now understand this sorcery that makes women want another baby. (well kinda…)”
