There is no lack of wealth in Canada. Many of the Forbes “richest lists” are crowded with Canadians. But who are the richest people in each Canadian province and territory? The number-crunching website The 10 and 3 compiled a list of the wealthiest individuals in each region. The only place they didn’t pick a richest resident was Nunavut, because most money is in the hands of the government or companies based outside the territory.

Billionaire Jim Pattison's businesses run the gamut from museums to grocery stories. Pattison is the sole owner of The Jim Pattison Group, Canada's largest privately held company. He's worth $7.9 billion.

PEI's other richest person, according to The 10 and 3, is Danny Murphy. Murphy had the good sense to become part of Tim Horton's when he was young. Now he owns all the locations on PEI plus a number of hotels. His brothers own a pile of restaurants too.

It's no surprise that the Irvings are New Brunswick's richest family. They're involved in pulp and paper, oil, shipbuilding and more. According to The 10 and 3, the Irvings are the 5th largest private landowner in the US. The family's fortune is an estimated $8.2 billion.
