Canadian actor Elliot Page has recently shared that his character in The Umbrella Academy, previously known as Vanya Hargreeves, will come out as transgender in the upcoming season of the show and will have a new name — Viktor Hargreeves.
On Tuesday, Page, 35, took to both Instagram and Twitter to share the news. “Meet Viktor Hargreeves,” Page captioned along with a photo of the character’s new look.
The Halifax-born actor came out as transgender in December 2020, inspiring trans youth around the world through his activism and openness. “I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot,” Page shared on an Instagram post.
