5 Reasons Why LA Should Be on Your List of Places to Go

3:20
Los Angeles is a star-studded diverse mega-city divided into many districts and neighbourhoods — all filled with great restaurants, excellent shopping, sightseeing and so much more. From West Hollywood to the Valley and everywhere in between, you’ll have no shortage of things to do when you come here on your next vacation. Here are my top things to do in Los Angeles from shopping in Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive to seeing where the Oscars are held in Hollywood and more. LA never disappoints — and these are some things to do to for the best time in the city of dreams.

Iconic 90210 sightseeing spots

One of my favourite things to do in Beverly Hills is to look at all the elaborate houses — many of which are home to Hollywood stars. I also love walking around Rodeo drive which is a road that has all these fancy designer shops. One of the most famous hotels in Los Angeles is the Beverly Hills Hotel — grab a drink at the Fountain Coffee Room or enjoy brunch at the Cabana Cafe as a good way to experience the hotel without breaking the bank.

Endless amount of activities

Renting an electric scooter (also known as Bird) is such a fun way to see Los Angeles. Through an app on your phone, you can be set up in minutes to breeze around the streets of LA on one of these thrilling things. It ends up being cheaper than an Uber to get around and is perfect if you want a quick way to get around different areas of the city. If you want to get your sweat on, heading to Runyon Canyon Park is a great way to get some sun and sweat at the same time on a sweet hike. If you’re in Los Angeles on a Sunday, head to the Melrose Trading Post located on Fairfax — it’s a great way to spend an afternoon and pick up some cool vintage finds.

Enjoy west coast beach spots

From Santa Monica to Venice and beyond, the California coast is a beautiful place — and one you have to hit during your time in Los Angeles. Head up the coast to Malibu — it’s a lovely way to spend the day as you take in the beauty that California has to offer. If you’re looking for a place with a fun hippy vibe you can hit up Venice and walk through the streets to immerse yourself in the unique spots it has to offer. Grab brunch at The Butcher’s Daughter in Venice before heading out to the boardwalk — the experience will have you never wanting to leave this awesome place.

Great shopping

If you love shopping you’ve come to the right place. There is great shopping everywhere in Los Angeles. The best shopping of all has to be along Melrose which is filled with everything from affordable thrift stores to trendy boutiques and high end designer shops. If you prefer more the designer route, then walking around Rodeo Drive will definitely satisfy your craving. Everything from Gucci to Prada to Chanel and more, this place is no joke when it comes to luxury. Even if it’s just window shopping that you’re doing, the streets are fancy and filled with expensive vehicles. It is definitely a sight to see and worth the visit while you’re in LA.

Eat your heart out

Los Angeles is a prime spot for incredible meals and most Los Angeles residents haven’t even scratched the surface of visiting all the restaurants here. Some of my favourite cafes include Lemonade, Carrera Cafe and Urth Cafe just to name a few. If you’re on Melrose and want a trendy dinner spot check out Catch, Gracias Madre or Zinque. But just note, many of these fancy restaurant spots will be busy so it’s best to make a reservation ahead of time. If you’re looking for fantastic Italian food, you must visit Jon & Vinny’s which is located along Fairfax. This place is always booked, though, so make sure you plan ahead.

That’s it for my Los Angeles travel guide. It’s the perfect spot for a weekend getaway so get ready for an awesome weekend filled with a lot of fun, good food and great shopping.
