Which RHOBH Housewife is Responsible for Puppygate?
Puppygate – it’s the greatest mystery since the pyramids, and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills storyline that has dominated season nine. The mystery surrounds an innocent puppy, Lucy Lucy Apple Juice, who was given to Dorit Kemsley by Vanderpump Dogs. Somehow, the puppy ended up in a kill shelter and the story was suspiciously leaked to the rest of the Housewives, and soon to the media. All fingers point to Lisa Vanderpump (LVP) as the puppeteer behind it all, but it’s also clear that Teddi Mellencamp isn’t innocent in this either. Insert testimony from the Vanderpump Dogs staff, and now it’s a big mess. Confused? Not to worry. We’ll use evidence from season nine to explain Puppygate and which RHOBH Housewife is to blame.
What is Puppygate?Puppygate started when Kyle Richards and Teddi Mellencamp visited Lisa Vanderpump’s dog rescue. John Sessa brought everyone's attention to one specific dog, explaining that it used to be Dorit's, and that it ended up back with the rescue. Lisa Vanderpump didn't want to talk about it.

The puppygate story leaksElsewhere, Dorit explained to Erika that Lucy was aggressive and not a good fit for her family. She thought she was giving the dog away to a beautiful home, but unfortunately, it ended up in a shelter and then returned to Vanderpump Dogs.
Back at the rescue, Teddi told Kyle that the staff from Vanderpump Dogs were so upset about Dorit’s dog that they told her about it and made her promise not to say anything.
It’s important to note that both Lisa Vanderpump (LVP) and Teddi had a falling out with Dorit last season. Were John Sessa and Teddi purposefully leaking this information to Kyle?
The Teddi Mellencamp / John Blizzard connectionLVP and Dorit discussed the matter over a friendly dinner, where Dorit admitted she should have brought the dog back to Vanderpump Dogs. During dinner, LVP warned her that Teddi found out because she speaks regularly with a Vanderpump Dogs employee named John Blizzard. This put Dorit on high alert. Teddi and Dorit don’t get along, and she’s the last person who should know any dirt about her.
Why was it so important to Lisa Vanderpump that Dorit know that Teddi had dirt on her? Was it a way of getting under Dorit's skin?
Lisa Rinna thinks Teddi was set upOn a girls’ trip to the Bahamas, Lisa Rinna overheard a conversation about a dog, and got Kyle and Teddi to spill. Lisa Rinna recognized this situation as classic LVP manipulation – she thinks LVP told her employees to tell Teddi what Dorit did with the dog, knowing it would leak to the rest of the group. That way her hands would be clean of it.
Teddi was shocked at the idea that LVP would use her like that.
This does sound like something Lisa Vanderpump would do...

Lisa Vanderpump takes the blameAt dinner, Teddi told Dorit that everyone had been discussing her and the dog. LVP accused Teddi of gossiping, but Lisa Rinna in turn accused her of purposefully telling her employees to leak the story about Dorit. “This wouldn’t be out there if you didn’t want it to be out there!” Lisa Rinna said.
The women quickly turned on LVP, accusing her of setting the whole thing up.
Lisa Rinna's theory is pretty darn good...
Teddi Mellencamp pulls out John Blizzard's text messagesLVP invited Teddi to her room, where she repeated that she had nothing to do with her employees leaking the story. Oh yeah? Teddi pulled out the receipts – text messages between her and John Blizzard where he explicitly said LVP told him to tell her about the dog.
You have to admit- this is some pretty damning evidence.

The tables turn on Teddi MellencampBack in Beverly Hills, LVP’s husband Ken, took it upon himself to do some digging. He pulled out his own receipts – printed texts between Teddi and John Blizzard where she said, “Have the dog there and I can say it looks like Dorit’s dog.”
What a plot twist! Was Teddi the one who actually set this up?
John Blizzard caught in a lieLVP called John Blizzard to her house, where she asked him why he said that she told him to leak the story to Teddi. He admitted that he lied and he should have never involved her. He also confirmed that Teddi did want him to have the dog ready at Vanderpump Dogs so that the Dorit story would come out.
Did John Blizzard really lie, and why is he changing his story now? Well, she is his boss after all…

Teddi Mellencamp admits her part in PuppygateMeanwhile, guilt was eating Teddi alive. She admitted to Dorit that she did conspire to set her up, but LVP was definitely a part of it. She even mentioned phone calls between her, LVP, John Sessa, and John Blizzard about how they would execute the plan. Dorit appreciated that Teddi was owning her side.
If this is true, why is LVP adamant that she had no part in it?
Who leaked Puppygate?Dorit was surprised to see that Radar Online found out about the story and released an article that clearly takes LVP’s side. All the women think that LVP was definitely the one who leaked the story. Lisa Rinna pointed out that the article refers to the dog as “the poor creature,” which is something LVP would say. Kyle agreed that this has gone too far and decided that it was time to confront LVP.

Goodbye Kyle!Kyle went to LVP’s home, Bella Rose, to confront her about leaking the story. LVP lost it, accusing Kyle of not being her friend. LVP pointed out that she did an interview with TMZ refusing to comment on the story, so why would she go to Radar Online to tell the story there? Ken joined in with some harsh words before they kicked her out with the words heard around the world. “GOODBYE, KYLE!”
At this time, Kyle Richards and Lisa Vanderpump are no longer friends.
Which Housewife is to blame?Though all the evidence seems to be piling up against Lisa Vanderpump, she was quite believable during the Bella Rose fight. Not to mention the fact that she was so offended by Kyle’s accusations that she ended her friendship with her.
Also, there’s the fact that John Blizzard is now saying LVP was never involved in the Puppygate set-up.
Do you think this was all Teddi Mellencamp’s doing, or was Lisa Vanderpump the puppeteer pulling the strings the whole time?
