Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas began dating this past spring, were engaged by summer and four months later — they were married! And the nuptials and the week-long celebration leading up to their multiple ceremonies, put a dent in their bank accounts.

From flying guests to India, booking an entire palace for the weekend, renting out pricey places for the mehendi ritual and the epic sangeet (where everyone got in on the song-and-dance action), not to mention all the other details required of a wedding of this magnitude, the reported costs were nearly $800,000 — but that's not including Chopra's dresses. The gowns she wore for her Christian service and the Indian ceremonies were so stunning, you know they likely cost enough to put their budget over a million.

Before Brangelina, there was Brad Pitt and Jen Aniston and their intimate Malibu wedding ceremony back in 2000 featured a gospel choir, four bands, fireworks, and a reported 50,000 flowers — which added up to about $1 million. They split five years later in one of the most scandalous breakups in modern Hollywood history, and, well, you know the rest.

Blame the bulk of their 2000 wedding at the Plaza Hotel on Catherine Zeta-Jones, whose Christina Lacroix wedding gown cost $140,000 while her diamond tiara was $300,000. But the couple, who will celebrate their 18th wedding anniversary this November, did sign a £1-million deal with OK! magazine to release pictures of the event so what they spent overall was chump change considering the company they're in.

They now have two kids.

With a special performance from Andrea Bocelli, John Legend performing "All Of Me" for the first dance, Kim Kardashian's $500,000 Givenchy Haute Couture gown, $136,000 on walls of flowers, and over $110,000 on food and ka-ching! This one rings in higher than her sister, Khloe's.

Paul McCartney and Heather Mills had all the makings of happily ever after, what with their extravagant 2002 ceremony at a castle in Ireland and 300 of their closest family and friends in attendance. The good times ended four years later, however, with a messy divorce that cost significantly more than the wedding, with Paul paying her $27 million and another $13 mill in assets.

Liza Minnelli married the concert promoter in a lavish wedding on NYC's Fifth Avenue in 2002. Michael Jackson served as the best man, Elizabeth Taylor was the matron of honour and guests included the Jackson Five, Liam Neeson, Joan Collins, Gloria Gaynor, Anthony Hopkins and Mia Farrow. Like seemingly every other couple on this list, they separated a year later and were officially divorced five years after that.

The couple looked gorge (George Clooney wore a Giorgio Armani tux while Amal Alamuddin donned a custom Oscar de la Renta wedding gown) at their 2014 wedding. They spared no expense and dished out $250,000 for flowers, $300,000 for the table and settings, $30,000 for the five-course dinner, and $160,000 for the booze. George and Amal are parents of twins and still happily hitched.

They may be one celebrity couple who married later in life, but for them, it was clearly worth the wait.

The only daughter of a former POTUS and former Secretary of State, Chelsea Clinton and her banker beau had a grand affair at the Astor Courts in 2010, which provided guests with a stunning view of the Hudson River. After a crazy expensive wedding, the couple are still happily married and share two children: three-year-old Charlotte and two-year-old Aidan.
