Known in her neighborhood for her love of laughter and her big spirit, Tampa grandmother Peggy Merhman is vivacious, outgoing, and much loved by friends and family. Yet when her heath declines, and her husband Don dies, Peggy is devastated and in great need of assistance.
In her small community, there are no shortages of friends and neighbors who are willing to come by and help out. In time, even this is not enough and Peggy is forced to turn to strangers and near strangers to help her manage the tasks of daily life. And when Peggy dies in her sleep, her daughter Janice’s grief is soon transformed into suspicion, and her amateur sleuthing discovers a trail of theft and horror that even police can’t quite believe.
