Hi there...I don't understand why the percentages add up to 106%?????? Shouldn't it be 100%....or else you will be 6% over budget.

The photography section should be a higher percentage. That's the only thing hard-copy thing (besides your ring and that dress you will never wear again) that you take with you forever.

If your budget is $15000 that leaves only $1200 for a photographer. Can't find that price with someone good!!

With regards to the percentage total, one can cut out elements that do not apply to their wedding. For example, we're not doing fireworks, programs (its a wedding, guess what's gonna happen?) and flowers can be substantially reduced.

This is just a guide.


Chelsey, have you thought about sourceing photography students/recent grads from photography courses? Most instructors have a list of references of former students or collegues. We are using a piper when we leave the church but as I'm walking down

I'm sourcing some music graduates I went to university with who have a HUGE passion for music and take playing very seriously. These musicians are happy to get some professional experience and will use you as a reference in exchange.

Our budget is $20K only because I have two dresses, the second one has Scottish emblishments.

To Alexandra3: The percentages probably add to 106, because of the honeymoon. That is, the wedding itself adds to 100% but the honeymoon cost should be roughly equivalent to what 6% of your wedding cost ought to be.

The reason why they add up to 106% I think is not because of the honeymonn its becasue of the wedding planner. You dont really need a wedding planner they are just an extra cost that is why you have youre vendors!! Anyway thats my opinion!!

We used a local professional photographer who was very reasonably priced and delivered great service and unique poses. She was neither a recent grad nor a student, so it was good to have confidence in her. We actually came under our photography budget, it was great because we could put that towards other areas (such as food) which came in over.

I did our wedding for about $7000 then went on a 2 week trip through romantic italy (Rome, Vennice, Sorrento, Capri, Florence) for about the same price. That was a 105 person wedding and includes a $1100 dress and $3500 for catering. Our friend made the wedding cake as a gift.

AT CHELSEY: Try negotiating with your photo/videographers. I just booked mine and their website said $4000 for the package I wanted but after emailing them and then showing no interest I was able to get that same package for $1,500!!

I only have $15k budget set for my wedding of 150 guests, and I got almost everything booked now (except the indulgences) and currently only $800 under budget! Is that good, or maybe I am missing something...??

I bought 6 wedding deals so far from Weddingful.com and I think their savings are pretty good. The good stuff goes really fast so watch it closely. I just watch what they have and buy from there. Sometimes you can search for their coupon codes too to save even more?
