What to Expect on the New Season of The Real Housewives of Orange County
Get ready to whoop it up because The Real Housewives of Orange County are back!
When we last saw these ladies the group was divided, and it was Vicki and Kelly vs. Heather, Shannon and Tamra (with Meghan putting herself somewhere in the middle). Since last season ended, Heather officially tossed her orange and announced that she's done with the show — but don't worry because TWO new Housewives have joined the cast this season!
Now that the trailer is out there, here's the scoop on what you can expect from season 12:
Firstly, fans might be surprised to see Meghan back. Since season 11 ended there were rumours Meghan and Jimmy had moved out of the O.C., but it looks like Meghan's here to stay. We're glad to see that the O.C.'s resident detective will be back for season 12, and there's a lot more happening in Mrs. Edmonds life than when we last saw her — she's finally a mom! Expect to see tons of scenes with Meghan adjusting to her new family life with her adorable baby girl, Aspen.
The real surprise this year is the return of one-season-wonder, Lydia McLaughlin. After her short, but sweet, stint on season eight, the 35-year-old mother of three managed to become a fan-favourite. A lot has changed for Lydia since she decided not to return to the show four years ago, she gave birth to her son Roman in 2014, launched her own lifestyle site, and became an author with her book Beyond Orange Country: A Housewives Guide to Faith and Happiness.
It'll be interesting to see how Lydia fits in with the new cast. She revealed she's kept in touch with Tamra Judge, whose faith made them closer... so could that mean she's already picked sides in the war of Tamra vs. Vicki?
Meet the 100th Housewife
Peggy Sulahian joins the cast this season, and she has the distinction of being the franchise's 100th Housewife. This Armenian-born beauty lives a life of luxury in the exclusive Crystal Cove community with her custom wheel mogul husband Diko, and their three children – daughters Giovanna, 19, Gianelle, 17 and son Koko, 9.
It'll be Lydia who introduces Peggy into the group, but from the looks of things, she might not get the warmest reception from the other ladies...
Old Rumours Keep Spreading
It looks like Lydia isn't the only former Housewife coming back, the trailer saw the return of Lizzie Rovsek and drama queen Gretchen Rossi! We got a peek at a juicy dinner scene where Gretchen cuts right to the chase and turns to Vicki to ask "So do we know if Eddie is gay or not?" Looks like Gretchen still can't ignore an opportunity to throw some shade at frenemy, Tamra Judge.
There's no denying that Kelly Dodd came in like a wrecking ball last season. She managed to offend nearly every Housewife she crossed paths with (and even a few husbands). Andy Cohen was recently quoted saying "I think you're gonna be surprised by Kelly Dodd this season"... so could season 12 be Kelly's chance to play nice with the other women for good? There's plenty of moments in the trailer where we see Kelly hugging it out with the other ladies... so it looks like someone else might swoop in and steal the title of villain this season:
With all these returning faces and shifting alliances it looks like we're in for some big surprises when The Real Housewives of Orange County returns to Slice July 10 at 9 e/p!
