Remember when Amber said to Melissa, “I don’t know if you've heard, but I'm in acting.”?

Well, no, Melissa hadn't heard – and neither had we – but oh man were we about to find out about Amber’s acting chops. Melissa doesn't probe any deeper after Amber says she’s done “some commercials,” but as we see on the show, the ads she’s referring to are the low budget ones for her husband’s business, Mortgage Now.

Listen, it’s super cute that Amber and Jim have made his company’s ads a family affair, but let’s not all pretend Amber’s about to win the Emmy for Best Performance In An Ad Directed By Your Teenaged Stepson. That said, we dug up the ads the Marchese shot for 2013 and 2014 and they’re low budget gems.

Take a look:

Mortgage Now Retro:

There’s all kinds of green screen goodness going on here. Amber at a university! Amber on a golf green! Amber in a suburban kitchen! We don’t know why Amber and Jim couldn’t have used their actual suburban kitchen for this, but we don’t care. All we care about is getting maximum hair flip, which Amber is giving us at every turn. Four hair flips in 30 seconds! Maybe she won’t be up for an Emmy, but what about a Clio for Best Hair Flip In An Ad?

Mortgage Now 2014:

For 2014, The Marcheses did away with the classic 30-second spot in favour of this minute-plus epic that marks the directorial debut of Michael, Amber’s 13-year-old stepson. We love kids acting like adults, so this is right up our alley. And we love the Fabellini shout out! And Isabella imitating Amber’s now-classic hair flip? Kids acting like adults, man. So good.
