The Housewives React To Kim Richards' Arrest
Kim Richards is in rehab. On April 16, it was revealed the Real Housewife was arrested at The Beverly Hills Hotel, with cops claiming she appeared drunk and made a scene, then refused arrest and kicked an officer.
More trouble followed: Richards booked a big Dr. Phil interview to discuss the incident, then walked off set mid-filming. The show's microphones picked up her son, Chad, saying Kim drinks, takes pills and smokes marijuana.
Since the arrest, most of Kim's fellow RHOBH Housewives have spoken out about the incident. Here's what they've had to say:
All last season, Kim and Brandi were thick as thieves. Brandi's stuck by Kim since the arrest, despite the fact that Kim's son said she was "toxic."
Right after the incident, Brandi tweeted, "Real friends are their in the good times, the bad times & especially the worst times. I am blessed with real friends & am a real friend myself."
She also thanked Kim for donating to a school auction in the middle of the chaos and went on to comment in her Bravo blog, "Kim, love having you as a BFF...I'm always here for you, and I hope you are always here for me. You are a strong chica, and I know your family is better for it. You are hilarious, and I love our funny talks and text-offs. Laughter is the best medicine. I heart you."
Brandi's already visited Kim in rehab and says she's "doing great."
Right after the arrest, Lisa tweeted, "U can’t help somebody til they want to help themselves, I know for sure that the sisters will always support each other when the time comes."
She later spoke to Entertainment Tonight and suggested the show may be part of Kim's problem. "I think she's battled these demons for years," Vanderpump said. "She kind of said it was the show, so clearly she shouldn't be part of it."
She later clarified on Twitter. “I have every sympathy for KR. If the show makes her drink, that’s a problem.”
Asked about Kim again on a red carpet by Celebuzz, Lisa said, “This is a time for her to pull back...I wish her well and hope she makes the right choices and finds the happiness she deserves.”
This season Lisa Rinna struggled with how to deal with Kim's erratic behaviour. They came to blows several times during the season, with Kim hinting cryptically that she knew a big secret about Lisa R's husband.
Still, on April 16, 2015, Lisa R tweeted her support for Kim after the arrest, saying, "I was sad to hear about Kim’s incident and I wish her and her family the best."
Eileen was another Housewife who faced the wrath of Kim Richards multiple times this past season. Despite all the hiccups in their relationship, on April 16, 2015, Eileen sent out a supportive tweet, saying, "I feel badly for Kim Richards and her family my thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time."
What about Kim's sister, Kyle? She's stayed pretty much mum. The day before news about Kim's arrest broke, Kyle told Us the two still hadn't made up (before the reunion, they had been estranged for months following an incident in which Kim's dog bit Kyle's daughter.)
"Unfortunately nothing was resolved at the reunion," she said. "I'm sad it has come to this."
During the Dr. Phil interview, Kim confirmed she'd been in contact with Kyle, but didn't say much else. "She actually texted me after my arrest, for the first time in five months...She asked me if I was okay. I haven't spoken to her, but I'm sure some people are having a field day with this, and I don't really care," Kim said.
When hounded by the paparazzi about Kim and how she was doing in rehab, Kyle would only give the thumbs up sign. She did, however, tweet to claim that Radar's reporting has been inaccurate. (The publication claimed Kyle was livid Kim had blamed her for the relapse and wasn't planning on visiting Kim on her rehab's family day.)
"@radar_online please stop with the invented , inaccurate stories"
