Ask An Expert: Paul, How Can I Keep Fit When I Sit All Day?

Q: Dear Paul, I’d like a few tips for us desk jockeys to keep fit throughout the day.

Ask An Expert: Paul Plakas Answers Questions About Diet Programs

Paul Plakas, fitness expert on the show, "X-Weighted Families", answers questions about diet programs and their effectiveness.

Ask An Expert: Paul, I've Had Pelvic Surgery But I Want To Run A 5K!

Q: Paul, I’m a 22-year-old woman, and I’ve had 5 surgeries on my pelvis, the last one being in May 2009, and in February 2010 one of the screws that was put in broke. I feel better now and I’ve started walking and 1hr is the longest I’ve walked without stopping since my surgery. My goal is to run 5k in September but I’m not sure how to get started because my cardio endurance is in the toilet and right now the impact of running hurts where I had my surgery. Any suggestions on how I’d be able to accomplish my goal?

Ask An Expert: Paul, Can I Weight Train While Pregnant?

Q: Dear Paul, I am 6 months pregnant with my 2nd child. I try to hit the gym at least 3 days a week, but I am concerned about weight training. I still lift a couple of times a week, is it safe to continue this right throughout the whole pregnancy? I do listen to my body and not overdo it, but I have had people comment that I should not strength train and only focus on cardio... what's your advice?

Here are 21 quick fire tips from Paul to give you food for thought...

Ask An Expert: Paul, I Need Help Balancing Calories!

Q: Paul, I am a 22-year-old male who weighs 204 pounds and is having trouble with caloric intake versus caloric expenditure. I have a watch that is telling me I am burning between 1000 and 2000 calories when I workout, but I find that I am still gaining weight. I eat about 1600 calories of clean healthy food but I still gain weight. Is there a chance that my body is going into starvation mode? What do I need to be eating to continue this level of activity?

Interview & Butt Kick with X-Weighted's Paul Plakas

X-Weighted is back for Season 4 - a new season with a new twist! Instead of focusing on the individual, fitness guru Paul Plakas and team are tackling families. According to Stats Can, 1.6 million Canadian children aged 2-17 years old are overweight or obese. In an effort to reverse that number, X-Weighted: Families tackles mom, dad and the kids to make some lifelong changes that will take them from fat to fit and fab!

Summertime Shape-Up

As loyal X-Weighted fans anxiously await the return of the show to our fall schedule, we have some valuable advice from the host, Paul Plakas. I had the opportunity to ask him a couple of questions recently that I’ve seen posted both on slice.ca and socially. Most people are curious about how they can make changes that will impact their lives in a positive way.

Work Your Body

Recently, I asked Paul Plakas, host of X-Weighted, about the basics of starting a weight loss/workout plan and how to lose that booty when you’ve already lost some weight.

Empower Yourself At Home

So, who’s up for feeling better just in time for spring? Or, in my case, baseball season! This was actually my motivation for attending Paul Plakas’s Bootcamp a few weeks ago. Paul is a well-known fitness trainer and the host of Slice’s X-weighted (you can watch full episodes of Paul in action online in our video centre). I’m happy to report that the bootcamp was great.

An X-Weighted Boot Camp Tour… Plus A V-Day Giveaway

When I watch Paul Plakas on X-Weighted, I get the urge to get out there and kick some butt at the gym. What we see on the show is only a taste of the actual workout you would experience if he was right there in front of you as a trainer.
