Dating At Work: Nay? or YAY!

Dipping one’s pen in the company ink has long been a dangerous and taboo proposition, but in today’s fast-and-frenzied society, the workplace has emerged as one of the better places to meet potential mates. Some couples that start at the office end in marriage; others end in a human resources trainwreck and/or untimely resignation.

What do you think?

Celebs have to worry about this stuff, too. Should Twilight star Rob Pattinson abide by the same rules as mere mortals? Visit our poll at E! Online to have your say.

We spend nearly all of our awake time at work (sadly)... Where else are you going to meet someone in real life?

Absolutely! I met my boyfriend of 3 years at work, and we continued to work together for 2 and a half years after we started dating. As long as the couple dating are mature enough to keep their relationship issues out of the workplace than it is 100% fine.

I used to say Nay. Because love at work seems like it would make everything more complicated. Now that I actually crushed over someone at work, I know that if you really fall for someone, doesn't matter if they work with you or not.

I work in a restaurant, where most of the guys there have dated or have been "seeing" most of the waitresses and vise versa. now for me, working as a cook, so working with all the guys seem to have more of a buddy buddy relationship with the guys, unlike the girls who are servers... so maybe its just the way they know them? i dont know, i have never gotten into anything serious with anyone at work.. i find it could be very awkward if it didnt work out... not only that, but i have witnessed relatioships become disasterous outrages in fornt of everyone including the boss during a rush, so im on the fence, i could be missing what they all see, or just have a certain relatioship with all the boys that i couldnt ruin it by actually dating them....

Well, I can say from experience that dating co-workers can become not the greatest situation since my relationship ended very badly and then you'll be forced to see that person everyday afterwards until one or the other quits the job. That being said I'm not saying nay, I'm saying do so at your own risk keeping in mind things could turn out badly. I've had so many other friends however whom have met their better half through work and are still going strong and some that are even married so there's always the chance of the opposite results.
Currently I have a few crushes at work yet again but I wouldn't risk making it uncomfortable by starting anything until I'm SURE there would be a good chance of it actually working out by seeing if we really do mesh well.
My personal advice to anyone looking to date in the office is to hang out socially a few times with the person you're interested in and see that way if you feel comfortable enough to be with that person.

Good luck to all!

NAY if you work at a call centre.
Call centre's quickly become like high school and EVERYBODY talks. In my situation it wasn't sooo bad because we were together a long time and ended it fairly well but I still get harrassed by people who are "sad"to see us split up because we were "such a cute couple".
On the other hand DEFINITELY don't have one-night stands with your coworkers in this environment cause when there are no calls, guaranteed that's what everyone's talking about.
