Guilty Pleasures: Sin Dictionaries Giveaway: Match the Word to the Sin and Win!
Hot off the presses! Just received a set of seven Deadly Dictionaries for each respective sin, and I, as a language lover, had me an amusing time leafing through them. Officially releasing September 18, 2011, this is your chance to receive a pre-release set and get sin-savvy before the masses!

From the Editors of Adams Media (publisher), PRIDE: A Dictionary for the Vain, GREED: A Dictionary for the Selfish, ENVY: A Dictionary for the Jealous, WRATH: A Dictionary for the Enraged, LUST: A Dictionary for the Insatiable,SLOTH: A Dictionary for the Lazy, and GLUTTONY: A Dictionary for the Indulgent have divvied up the English language according to each guilty pleasure.
The second I saw them I couldn't resist picking out the sins that own me the most, which incidentally are pride, gluttony and greed. With practical descriptives such as 'egosurfing' -- which I commit often on the internet -- the difference between 'exalt' and 'exult' (to glorify; celebrate heartily) and colourful alternatives like 'the gimmies' (another word for greediness), I'll never be at a loss when expounding my vices.

Elana holding her sins.
Each richly bound hardcover bares (wink wink) an etched illumination of the sin in question, (with a clever, sin-themed wallpaper adorning the back, such as maids' bells for Sloth -- decor ideas?), and contains over 500 alphabetized words fleshing out each vice. Some words, like amoral (deliberately ignorant of what is considered right and wrong) and corpulent (ample in body/obese) are committed to more than one sin -- Lust, Envy, Greed; and Gluttony, Greed, respectively -- and some words, such as doodle (Sloth) and fidelity (Envy) no doubt are puzzled to find themselves in any Deadly Dictionary at all -- I guess it's the Adams Editors encouraging a little thematic association -- fun!
SO HERE GOES: Match the following seven words with the Deadly Dictionary from whence they hail, and email them to webmasterATsliceDOTca for a chance to receive the complete set. Use your noodle! And yes, you'll need to look them up.
