TIFF: Celebrity Fundraiser for Haiti
In support of the people of Haiti, some of Hollywood's brightest stars attended a fundraiser this past weekend in Toronto for Artists for Peace and Justice (APJ) - a charity which is devoted to impacting the lives of the children of Haiti by providing food, water, medical care and education. I love it when celebrities give back to those in need and it's great to see so many A-list actors involved with this cause.
Some of the stars in attendance included Martin Sheen, Paul Haggis, Josh Brolin, James Franco, AnnaLynne McCord and Kathleen Robertson. The actors and actresses mixed and mingled with hundreds of guests and wrote coloured messages of hope, love and support for the children of Haiti. A live auction was held and an array of fabulous items were up on the auction block including: an NKPR IT Lounge gift bag full of products from Fila, Dagmar Jewelry, Kobo eReader, Esprit, Acura, and Diamond Cutters International; after-party tickets for Paul Haggis' new film The Next Three Days; a table for 10 at the Hollywood Awards Gala in L.A.; and the Alice + Olivia dress that AnnaLynne McCord wore to the event. Overall, the event was a huge success and $100,000 was raised for APJ!
