Hi,

i watch bulging brides and last 10 pounds boot camp religiously. I'm really interested in having Tommy and Nadine be my fitness coach before my upcoming wedding in May...however, my problem is not getting into my dress...but toning up(building more muscle). Could a show be done on average sized brides who wants to lose 5-10 pounds and focus on more weight training? I want to be more sculpted. What do you think?

I am in my friend's wedding in May and the bride does not need help but the other bridesmaid certainly does need help. My friend (the bride) is getting a little worried. The dress was purchased too small due to the style of the dress. The other bridesmaid had to lose 2 inches in her hips and she has gain weight instead. Can you help a Bulging Bridesmaid?

I am getting married in May, and have had my dress given to me by a friend. The dress is meant to be tied in the back, but because she was larger she had a panel sewn in to add a few inches, and to allow the dress to be zipped up.

I have gained 50 pounds in the last two years, because of stress with university, and REALLY want to lose some weight for my wedding. I don't need to lose all 50, but I definitely want to be in better shape. I'm willing to listen and do what I'm told. I've lost almost 10 lbs on my own, but am finding it difficult.

I would love to have Tommy and Nadine help tone me up for my wedding. I fit my dress, but as its a corset back, I would love for it to be able to be laced tighter. That and I would love to have a sexy sculpted back and arms, since it is so revealing.

I need motivation and someone to keep me accountable, since the wedding is at the end of May

I just saw a lady on the show 126 pounds, perfect hourglass size 4-6. There is NO WAY in the world that ladies need to be pulled in by these shows. It feeds off of womans` fears , in adequacies,self-esteem and self-worth. just had to bury my 14 year old, and she was diagnosed with an eating disorder at 12 years old. There should be shows like this to help ladies set REALISTIC goals, not ones such as this lady who was featured, there should be shame and hopefully a desire to help women, not belittle them. Dove self esteem program is trying to do Something, It would be a blessing if the producers of this show had a turnabout and really gave viewers a show they could really put themselves in - by learning healthy balanced living. My daughters name is Falon Urquhart, maybe you could dedicate the first real episode to her, sincerely, Amber Wood 9026784880 NS. Canada

Hello,
My condolences to you and your family.

I'm glad you watched the show. I'm the lady that was featured responding to you. The show had nothing to do with me wanting to be on it.
I needed help with my last few pounds and I haven't been working out in a while so it was great to be selected and be given this opportunity to get me to kickstart my healthy lifestyle. Mind you it wasn't easy, I persisted with the show to select me. it was my choice. I appreciate your thoughts in thinking that I didn't need to lose the weight. But I know myself and my body frame. I have a small bone structure and it helps be able to hide the fat. I had my body fat percentage done before the show even selected me and it was high 31%. Its not about the weight I lost its really the inches and fat loss:). Let me tell you I feel great and now its part of my lifestyle:)
Yes I did feel silly watching the show after as there was a lot of things that were edited out. Lets not forget its still a 'reality' show.
Also, I was directed the whole time by a nutritionist and even before I went on the show I had a complete physical and advised my doctor of what I'm doing.

I wish you all the best.
take care,
Samah

Hi there,

I watch this show all the time, and I think it's fantastic! Since I am a guy, and not likely to ever be a bulging bride ;) I watch it for the nutrition, and training tips. The one thing that I would like to see change is when Nadine gives examples of the terrible foods that the bride has been eating during the course of a month, the food should be in bags of sugar or some other format that would not waste so much food! When people are starving on the streets, this obvious waste of food is a complete waste!

Other than that, it's a great show.

Cheers,
G.

Love Bulging Brides! Always gets me energized to hit the gym afterwork, rather than hit the couch for the night.
I would love to be a contestant, as I am hit with a double-whammy this year! Not only am I getting married this summer (end of August), but I am heading to Mexico with my family, for our very first family vacation. Not that my family doesnt know I'm a little chubby, I just hate the idea of confirming this for them, by sporting a bikini!
I exercise regularily, and prepare all of my own meals, but I just can't lose the buddha belly!! (in my defence we've been together since I was very little- so not so sure if its even possible for me to lose it!).
I'm 5'3' and 166 lbs (you do the math)- while my life's motto has always been 'muscle weighs more than fat'!
On top of that I bought a sample wedding dress, and its at least a size and a half too small. I dont need a seamstress, I need a magician!!
With my upcoming trip, and first alterations appointment coming up in the next month or so I am freakin out!

If you need a chubby bride for April/May/June/July or August 2009, just let me know!!

:) Jen

I would love to be on the show as to I've put on weight since the end of school and I have my wedding in August. I'm pretty sure at this rate I don't have much of motivation to get the weight off to get into my dress. How do you get on the show?

Erin
Thursday, 11 June 2009 23:10 PM EST

I've got a friend who did your show and was alarmed at how much of it was fabricated! Not only did her dress fit to begin with, your seamstress took it in 2 inches! And when it did'nt fit at the end, they resized it! Is this the way it is with all your Bulging Brides?
i've got an extra 15 lbs to loose. I had a baby, lost all the weight in 3 weeks but was put on medication that made me gain 40 lbs(10 more than when I was 9 months pregnant!) I've lost 20 on my own and would be interested to see if you guys are for real! Could you really kick my butt enough to shed these last 15 lbs?

Friday, 12 June 2009 03:44 AM EST

I've always loved your show and how much of a butt kicking you give the girls and this is just what I need. I just got engaged and I am in the planning process of the wedding, however, the main concern I have is losing 20lbs before the wedding day and I need that same butt kicking to get motivated. I would love to be contacted by Tommy and Nadine to get some advice.

I just watched your show and would like you to whip me back into shape. I just had three kids in a row, my pre-preg. weight was 160 and am now 170, I need help getting rid of this tummy. I was a major gym rat before this and now I can't stand this last ten pounds. I am having a hard time finding the motivation to get back at it.

Agreeing with the comments made by Amber. Having watched a few episodes I have actually been shocked and dismayed that in 'real' terms these brides are not "bulging". How can you be 5 ft 6, 146lbs and be considered to be bulging? The tips offered by the nutrionist in general are fabulous but to show a program where brides, who are actually in fact technically underweight, are losing weight to fit into a dress, when they could have bought the right size - heaven forbid a size 10 as opposed to a size 8 is disturbing viewing.

Saturday, 20 June 2009 11:31 AM EST

I can't believe you starve the contestants for this show so badly. I just watched an episode where the typical meals for a 165-lb woman was a 235 cal breakfast, a 350 cal lunch, a 300 cal dinner, and some watermelon as a snack. That's 900 calories people. And a good bit of it was from useless nutrient deficient carbs (a tortilla wrap and a slice of toast). Then your trainer worked her butt off and all she did was complain about starving. Well good because you really starved her. She said she learned a lot and will keep the meal plans for the future. Yeah right, there is absolutely no way they can be maintained because what you offer is a starvation diet with a ridiculous exercise load for someone who does not exercise.

Would you consider helping older women to lose those last 10 or 20 pounds, with slower routines and more age related exercises. Nutrition advice would be helpful and you can even get doctors advice on the show. It might be fun and don;t forget the baby boomers are still a large % of the population.

Hey there, Just wanted to share that I have been doing my own version of "Bulging Brides" to get off the 20 pounds I gained during the engagement. WEddings are stressful!!! I love the show, just because such awesome transformations are possible...so I've been working the Sure Slim program for my diet, and going to Victoria Wellness Professionals for workouts, and then walking to work 2 times a week...I've dropped 9.8 pounds in 30 days...I've got 57 to go the wedding, and I am on track to get back down to my goal! I didn't buy my dress 2 sizes too small, I bought it for the weight I am right now, thinking I could lose about 10 pounds and it would look AMAZING...so I've now lost the 10 extra pounds I gained since I bought it, and am on target to drop the rest before the wedding to feel like a gorgeous bride...but I am always saying to my trainer "no bulging brides here!!!!"...love the show!

I was just wondering if I could see pictures of the brides in their gowns. I recently saw one of your episodes and I loved the dress she was wearing, but I cant seem to find it.

I love the work that they are doing and have thought that it would be cool if these two work for longer term goals, like lose 90 pounds in two years kinda deal. Or do Bride Bootcamp for those of us who need the extra help????

I watch the show and feel guilty doing it while eat chocolate. lol. If I had someone who could point me in the right direction that they seem to do, it would be awsome. I had a baby a year ago now and planning on getting married in Oct 2010. I figure I could use this show as I am only 5'1" and I weight 210 pounds. My wedding dress size is 20. So if anyone knows how to get on the show please let me know.

I think Nadine Bowmen is actually quite rude. There was a woman on the show who was NOT a big girl. Her dress was just a size too small. Instead of telling the girl that chips and chocolate weren't going to help, Nadine insisted on calling her a Fat Pig. Excuse me Nadine? You're not that "skinny" for a nutrition coach. More than half the girls on the show are absolutely beautiful and many women would love to be their size. Instead of helping girls fit into the size 2 dress why don't you guys help the overweight women? Or get a size bigger! Your standards are unbelievable.

I love watching moms try to do better for themselves and kids. WTG Kelly and you are beautiful! Will you guys (slice tv) ever do a show to see where they are at now and if they have kept this new lifestyle up?

Hi,
Im 14 years old and i love your show and watxh it whenever i can :) and i cant help thinking everytime i see the show, that you guys should also go for "Buldging Teens" Cause we are at that age where temptation is still very very hard to control and that if your over weight its hard be confident so then you miss out on alot. So just thought it would be cool that you could help and teach the younger geberation a better life style also. So please take this into honeste consideration, and if youd like to give "Buldging Teens" a chance please e-mail me I`d love to be your first teen in definate need of some buldging :) cass.m.pink@hotmail.com

ps; Please don't just ignore this suggestion because I'm just a kid.... i tend to get that alot and i dont think its very fair because it could turn out to be a big hit :) thank you

I love Bulging Brides, and last 10 pounds boot camp. How do you apply to be on this show, not only I the Bride to be but all my brides maids need some work done on them. Coming from a family of extra large bobies it is my biggest concern. I did not start getting big until a couple of years ago now I just can't get off the extra pounds. Being an extremely picky eater I have no facts about nutrituion, I do little work outs at night but never get any results, now I'm to the point of no return and no motivation. Please help me fit in my dress.

Hello my name is Miranda and I live in White Rock. I am getting married July 10 2010. I would like to lose about 15 pounds before then. My issue is that when I work out I tend to gain muscle very easily. I do not want anymore muscle on my body. I know to tone up you need to do lots of reps with lighter weights, but it means my workout routine is very long and very boring. Long and boring workouts are very difficult to stick to. I know I need to change what I eat, but I really don't know what a "healthy" meal is. I am hoping that my upcoming wedding will inspire me to stick to a regular workout routine, but I KNOW being on your show in front of everyone watching me would push me to my ultimate limits and get me to where I want to be on my wedding day. I would love to be considered for an episode of bulging brides. Thank you Miranda

Not neccessarily an idea for this series - but maybe a new series... Once we get married our next step is babies! I want to start working out now before I get pregnant so that I can continue working out during and after the pregnancy. It would be great to have a show outlining workout for pre-, during, and post- pregnancy.

I would just like to have some information on the meal plans that the ladies on the show have been given. Every time I see the meals set out they look so delish!!
My problem is I don't have the patience to wait and make appropriate meals. When I'm hungry I eat but the meals on the show look small and (i'm hoping) quick to make. Where may I find the receipies on the show? Maybe even a meal plan!

Hi,

I've been watching the show for some time now, and recently got engaged to an amazing man. He's in the Canadian Forces and is in much better shape than me, and while he is very encouraging in all other aspects of my life, when we are together he doesn't want to do anything more active that a walk in the park at a leisurely pace using the line "I work out at work, and I get paid, why would I do it in my free time?"

While I love him dearly, I try to get myself into the gym a couple of times a week as many of my friends are trainers in my gym. Since we became serious about out relationship I find myself having difficulty dragging myself out of his company and to the gym.

Since we are tying the knot in July of 2010, I would love the opportunity to work with Tommy and Nadeen and maybe *lose* some weight instead of only building muscle with heavy weights once or twice a week.

Please help! Maybe if you get involved my fiance will finally see how serious getting into shape is to me.

I know This post must look like every other. I am engaged and going to get Married June of 2010. I may not be the biggest bride but I want to push myself to my best. I know that Tommy and Nadeen can get me there. I want to be my best for a new chapter in my life.
My Fiance, Jeff, also needs to shape up a bit. Although he has a slim figure, he still manages to have a gut. Please!! Give me this chance.

I really don't feel that being 150 pounds is dramatic. Desiree probably had a couple of pounds to lose but she looked great and I feel you made her feel like she was a big cow. Let's get realistic here. I do agree to eat healthy and moving to stay fit but making someone like Desiree feel huge doesn't make lots of people watching feel good about themselve.

In response to "jasmine jackson3", Though you have a good point that a size 2 is unreasonable for the majority of us ladies, I don't think You should put that pressure on Nadine as if it is her standard. She is not a size two, obviously she has a very strong muscular physique. I'm saying this in her defense because I think that many ladies that may be "skinny" or "small", yet still want to loose that extra few pounds. Often to others it may seem odd when a smaller girl wants to loose "excess" weight but EVERY bride wants to look the best on her wedding day. I suppose I'm just trying to point out that even if there isn't a lot to loose that every bride wants to be a toned better version of herself. I don't know of the episode you are referring to, however I wonder If she said "you eat like a fat pig", rather than "you are a fat pig". So many slim people have awful diets. Just a thought.

Hi
My fiance and I watch all the wedding shows. We would love to be on an episode of "bulging brides" but for "COUPLES" who want to loose those last few pounds and tone up before their wedding. You know it's not just brides who want to look their best on their wedding day but groomes do to.

Hi!

I am 20 years old, 5'5" and 140-145 pounds. I've been skating for 13 years of my life and used to be quite toned and thin. Muscle accumulated in my calves, thighs and glutes. Now that I am older and my skating career is nearing the end, muscle has been replaced with fat and I'm unnecissarily pear shaped.

When my father caught nimonia last year and lost some weight, I found out that I weighed ten pounds more than him. I lost 25 pounds and felt so successful. I have another twenty pounds to go.

I'm nowhere near getting married but my problem is this... I'm really afraid of losing weight! I'm scared that my bones will stick out because I think I might have gigantic hip bones or that my ribs will be huge because of expanding due to years of cardio exercise and heavy breathing.

What do I do? Am I the only one like this? I want to be the skinny girl I should be at my age but my fear of worsening my look is overpowering me.

Hi, I have watched this programme in the UK and to be honest am totally shocked that you think people on it need to lose weight! Prime example girl last week had a 29 inch waist and you got it down to a 27 - tiny! If I was an impressionable person I would never watch as I would think I needed to be a permenant diet.

Love the show, I have already been a bride and lost 73 pounds in 9 months for the big day. It's hard and a lot of work.
Now after my second child I find although I am very busy, my weight has been constant. My metabolism has decreased hugely. It's signs of old age I think! I'm in the military so PT is important, my PT standards are just the basics. I want more. I know it is not a wedding, but my work is having a ball in Quebec City, and all I want to do is enjoy it and look sexy with a lot of extra poundage gone. Does you and your team have any advice. I am thinking of starting Lipo 6, but I am hesitant.

It's me again. I just had a brain fart.

Tommy and Nadeen should do a road trip! Hit different places for a new bride.

Starting out west moving to east.
BC done, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, QUEBEC CITY, etc etc etc to Halifax. It could be some kind of Promotion for your show, Tommy and Nadeen can take it National, and not just us sitting on the sofa watching.

Hi, I watch your show every day over here in the uk, I was a petitte size 12, due to health problems and having an hysterectomy I went up to size 14 - 16. I am following your routines and meal menus as closely as I can as I need to lose some weight as it is playing havoc with my Hole in the Heart and a small hole in my mitral valve too! If you have any further tips for me (as I am not one of your brides just a normal 50 yr old housewife) I am quite active but soon get out of breath, I would be so grateful to you. I wish that you would list the dress designer and the model # at the end of the show. Some dresses are so beautiful and when you know that someone has the similar body shape/size/measurements it give you a very good idea what the dress would like on someone. Food for thought!!!

Have been watching a lot of TV due to the the fact that I recently broke my ankle. I love the slice shows BUT why is it that a couple of days ago the bride that appeared in "Rich Bride Poor Bride" is today appearing on "Buldging Brides"? True they are calling her a different first name "Tracy" today but it's definitely her. Do these people just circuit through all your productions? This is not the first time I have noticed.
There have to be plenty of real people out there OR are these actors?

Hello,

I lost 45 pounds last year and have levelled off. I have maintained the same weight within three pounds, 182-185, since March. I am 5'9 and have a lot of muscle mass. However, I cannot believe that I am at my ideal weight. I think realistically 160 would be a healthy weight for my height but I'm stuck. I need help figuring out how to tweak my fitness and eating patterns (particularly the nutrition, I am guessing) in order to lose the last little bit before I get married in September of 2011. I see that you do not do shoots in the Maritimes. Is there anyone you might recommend (nutritionist/personal trainer) to help kick start the weight loss? I have never worn a bikini in my life and would love to do so on my honeymoon.

Thanks so much!

I have a problem with the amount of food that is wasted just to show someone how bad their diet is. With an economy like this I am sure that there are a lot of families that are barely making ends meet and would benefit from all that wasted food. I would like to see that part of the show eliminated from any future episode or used in a way that it can be donated to a homeless shelter.

Nadeen & Tommy - love Bulging Brides!!!

I really don't "get" why a woman would buy a dress 2 sizes too small during one of the most stressful times of her life - but it is extremely entertaining watching the bride attempt to lose those inches!!!

I love the show, but I wonder what types of excercises I can do? With having osteoarthritis and I was born with my knee caps above the joints I am limited to doing certain workouts! I would love to firm up & shed a few pounds! Any suggestions?

Hi,

Watching the show has given me a lot of inspiration to change my body before my wedding in April 2011. I just can't seem to loose the last 10 pounds of spare tire. Please help! I do really well under pressure, and I really feel that I need Tommy and Nadine to push me beyond what I am currently doing. It would be so awesome!!

I love watching the show to get ideas on new workouts. I am getting married myself October 8th, 2011 is the date.
I myslef need to loose 15 pounds. The dress I currently bought is tight so I better loose weight.

I went on the Depo Shot as a birth control and currently am no longer on it because I gain 20 pounds. I got a personal trailer a while back and still managed to gain 8 pounds with him. I know muscle is more then weight but my pants never got better they only got worse. Booo...

Watching your show makes me hopefull, but makes me want to step up my gym time.

Hi there,
I was always a bigger girl, I lost 50lbs all on my own! But unfortunately my happiness was short lived. I had my Daughter 6 months ago, and it seems like everything I try now does NOT work, I am struggling to get it off! I am getting married July 30th. My dress is actually BIG (it was given to me before I lost my 50lbs) BUT it is going to be fitted to me in a couple of weeks and I don't want to be this size! I am only 15 pounds away from where I need to be... Please help me. I don't want to remember my day as a "bulging Bride"! I am willing to do all the hard work that it takes for help!

I love your show! I'm currently watching the first season here in Finland - the show started to air here a few months back. I've fell in love with Tommy and Nadine, you are the best! (And Tommy is so fun and soooo hot..!)
The show motivates me to get in better shape: I'm getting married in September and I've now lost 11 pounds and my goal is to double that number.
Thank you!

I love your show. It's witty and hilarious because, you know the key to comedy is to "go for it".
Oh and my only feedback would be, maybe every now and then changing the bachelorettes cheating part of the show, it's too predicatable and the only part my fiancee and I don't enjoy. Cheers, T

What about the mother of the bride. Help, the stress of planning a wedding and going through menopause. I seem to be able to maintain my weight, bowever the mid section just keeps on growing! I bought my dress a month ago and it will be here in 2 to 3 months, I feel like it's not going to fit anymore. What about doing a show about mother of the bride wanting to look her best! The wedding is in August 2012.

I love watching Bulging Brides and seeing the hard work Tommy and Nadeen do to help! However I'm sad to say I'm just like those girls. I'm getting Married in November and I need to drop 25-30 pounds for my dream dress to fit.

I know that if Tommy and Nadeen we're too help me, I'd smarten up and I'd never let myself get to that size again.

Please help me, make my dream dress come true!

I'm getting married in just a few short months, and I bought my dress tight fitting, thinking I will loose 10lbs to make it fit right. I just want to start off by saying I was inspired by your show when I was watching it today!!! I am getting married Sept. 22nd and I've already purchased my dress. We dont have a lot of money and I got a really great deal on it. I definitely can't afford to buy a new dress..I had a baby two years ago and since haven't been able to loose the weight I gained during my pregnancy..I clicked on casting call and there were a few Slice shows you can apply to be on but it won't let me apply to be on this show and I would love the opportunity to be..When I bought the dress I had to lose two inches in my back for it to even zip up and I have since put on at least five pounds..I have tried several diets and lost a bit then gained it back, I definitely need some help with a diet plan and workout I can do in between having a toddler and work...PLEASE HELP!!!

'HI Tommy and Nadeen,\x3cbr \x2f\x3eMy husband and I are renewing our vows in October in Sin City, Las Vegas. We have been married for 8 years but been together 10 years. A few of our friends are going with us. But I am very disappointed in myself. I look in the mirror, and instead of seeing the positive I see all that is wrong with me. I went to the doctor today and was eager to see what my weight was, only to find out I have gained weight. I do work out three times a week, but I am at the point of giving up. I feel hopeless because I found the perfect Las Vegas wedding dress, but at this rate I will be wearing baggy jogging pants and oversized sweat shirts down the church aisle. I want to feel beautiful in October. \x3cbr \x2f\x3ePlease, consider helping me regain self-confidence in myself. I am 5.21\x2f2 high and 140 pounds. I was 125 pounds. 'Hello, I turned on the TV this evening and caught Bulging Brides. This is a program I have never chosen to watch...and now I know why\x21 I was shocked and disgusted. So the dress doesn\x27t have to fit the woman, the woman has to accommodate the dress\x3f Way to perpetuate social constructions that lead women to feel self disgust at the best and to abuse themselves at the worst for a myth. To see a beautiful and thin woman standing in front of another woman as that woman picks apart her body makes me very sad. SHAME on you\x21\x21\x21\x21\x21 I normally like Twist\x27s programming, but this program is potentially damaging. 'I am writing to let you know how disgusted I was with one of your episodes. You criticized a bride for being 5\x222 and weighing 122 pounds, when that\x27s actually UNDER the average weight for someone being that height\x21 The \x22professionals\x22 on the show mustn\x27t truly know what they\x27re doing. She didn\x27t even look big, she just bought the wrong size dress. SOLUTION\x3f BUY HER A DRESS THAT FITS\x21 Millions have probably seen that episode, and felt disgusted like I was, or they felt crappy about themselves after seeing that an underweight girl that STILL wasn\x27t \x27thin\x27 enough. Just a little something for you all to think about before you start making the world go anorexic\x2fbulimic.'
