Tracey is a larger-than-life mom who's thinking BIG for her daughter Samantha's 14th-birthday celebration. Mom forces Samantha, who has never danced before, to learn an elaborate hip-hop dance routine to entertain her guests, which throws Sam in a panic about her two left feet and public humiliation.
But then everything is put at risk when Tracey's rival announces a competing party in their small town at the exact same time. Tracey launches an all-out war to ensure her daughter's big bash and dance debut isn't for an empty room - even if it means taking certain steps that make Samantha want to call the whole thing off.
