Faking It: Are Counterfeit Designer Bags Worth It?

For some woman shoes are their week spot, for others it’s clothes, but for me I have a soft spot for handbags. I’m a sucker for a well-crafted, stylish handbag, in the medium to large size range, capable off holding plethora of personal items.

Online Coupon Sites, How I Heart You

If there is one thing I love more than online shopping, it's finding websites dedicated to sharing the latest in sales, coupons, rebates and discounts, online or in-store. Savvy consumers are banding together by way of websites to share their shopping knowledge and keep their deal seeking online communities in the know.

Budget Friendly Beauty Products Online

Around this time of year, I start to notice the bottles and jars of various beauty products in my bathroon begin to dwindle down and the time to refill approaches. Unlike some, I’m not a huge collector of various shades of make-up, lotions designed for individual body parts, or hairsprays each with their own unique scent. I’m not that high maintenance. But I do like quality products, and like other quality items in life, they come at a price.

A Cheap Chuckle to Relieve Holiday Stress

I was standing in line yesterday at the bookstore, across from which is the wine store. My holiday stress was hitting peak levels as I stood in line, and I was tempted to leave the gift (that has been on back order for three months) behind and head over to the wine store to grab me a bottle. The mounting holiday stress is evident, and it isn’t just me eyeing up a bottle of vino.

Skinovation Giveaway!

During the winter months my skin starts to take on the lifeless look of an individual who has spent too many hours inside an office with recycled air. I’m determined that this winter things are going to be different and with the help of Noah Kiani at Skinovation, I think I have a plan well in hand.

Surf Your Way Through Holiday Shopping

‘Tis the week to start gearing up for the holidays. Some of us have started to think about holiday shopping and others, well, it’s barely entered their mind about what to do. I belong to the latter group, and as such have only recently started in the quest for what to give. My search started in the easiest place possible – the interweb.

Really, I'm Not a Scrooge!

I love spreading festive cheer and holiday shopping as much as the next hyped up, over-zealous person, but the growing length of the holiday season is getting out of hand. Halloween is still a fresh memory, at least for me, and department stores and malls have already kicked the marketing machine into high gear again with the onslaught of over the top holiday décor, strategically placed employees full of false holiday cheer, and the endless loop of Christmas music (okay, I’m almost embarrassed to admit it, but I sort of like the holiday tunes – is that wrong?).

The Dreaded Gym Membership Sales People

Last year I signed up for a gym membership with an established sports club chain in the greater Toronto area, who shall remain nameless. In retrospect, the benefits of belonging to the club in no way justified the exorbitant cost of the yearly membership, but I sold myself on the expense by falsely believing the club’s proximity to home would make me more likely to workout.

Fitness As Seen on TV

With fall just around the corner, I’ve been reflecting on the summer and just how good it has been to me this year. In fact, it may have been a little too good. I haven’t touched the scale all summer, but yesterday I mustered the courage to step on and see what the consequences were of my summer over indulgence. To my great surprise it wasn’t that bad, but there were a few extra pounds there that ended up being the inspiration I needed to get back into a workout routine.

Practice Safe Sun

With summer in full swing, and people soaking up every ray of summer sun, I thought this would be a good time to remind you of the importance of practicing safe sun. This little reminder was prompted by my recent trip to a friend’s cottage and the sunburn that I’m still paying for today.

Beach Etiquette

Ah, beach season. For me, nothing beats lounging around in the sand with a cool beverage in one hand and good book in the other. I’ve travelled to the giant sand box for lounge lizards a few times this year and have noticed an alarming trend in the number of sand-revealers who have blatant disregard for their follow beach-goers. Please indulge me as I share some of my observations.

It's Toe Time!

It’s that time of year when I bring out the spring/summer line of shoes and bare my toes to the world. The showing of ones toes brings up a big decision – what colour nail polish should I use?

Sun-Kissed Hair is Just a Bottle Away!

A few weeks ago, I headed south for some fun in the sun, Caribbean style.

Online Shopping = Trouble

Listen. Can you hear it? It’s the sound of online retailers beckoning for your dollars. Recently I heeded their call and with a few clicks of the mouse and some help from my credit card, I joined throngs of online shoppers.

Skin Care that's Pure + Simple

Drug store skincare and makeup aren’t for me. My skin just doesn’t like it. They have too many chemicals or fragrance that end up making me look like the love child of Carol Channing and Kid Rock. It’s not pleasant. But a few years ago, my skincare woes were no more with the discovery of Pure + Simple.

Shop Crawl Alert!

How does this sound for a night out on the town? Select boutiques stay open late just for you to offer exclusive discounts, you receive a free swag bag and, to top it all off, a post-shopping party complete with free drinks and the chance to win even more great goodies.

The Cost of Being Single

Living the life of singledom can be costly – there’s only one income to pay for the rent/mortgage, bills, and other essentials (such as shoes). But have you ever wondered if there are hidden costs to being single?

My Parents are...Odd

It’s been several years since I left the nest, much to my parents great delight, I’m sure. We still see each other on a fairly regular basis. This allows me to conclude that , well… my parents are weird.

The Full Moon - The Male Equivalent to the Whale Tale

Spring has finally sprung and with it comes a myriad of brightly coloured clothes, trendy new shoes, and a long list of fashion crimes committed by men. Yes, I’m picking on the fashion follies of guys in an attempt to educate and prevent further atrocities.

Baseball – the Male Equivalent to Shopping?

Baseball. I never really understood the male fascination with the game. What’s so enthralling about watching a group of men who rarely shave stand around in a field trying to look comfortable in tight pants (and judging by all the scratching, those pants must chafe)? Apparently guys dig it.

Public Transit Etiquette

If your daily commute includes pushy people, your toes being stepped on, and odd smells, then you must take public transit! I have been taking public transit all my life and have recently noted a severe decline...
