Wedding Trends from The Wedding Co. 2011 Wedding Show!

The Wedding Co. 10th Anniversary Wedding Show was held this past weekend - here are some trends/style ideas I took away from this year's wedding show.

A Royal Wedding Sparks Sapphire Loving

Just a day after Prince William proposed to his longtime love Kate Middleton with his mother's amazing 18-carat blue sapphire and diamond ring was the demand for replicas already in full force.

A Royal Engagement Finally Ends a School-Girl Crush

Prince William is officially off the market for all the women in this world who grew up with him, put posters of him on their wall, dreaming and maintaining a glimmer of hope that they could one day call themselves a princess. I was one of those girls. Now I must weigh in on this landmark, world-stopping engagement that has rocked the end of the first decade of the 21st century: the engagement of His Royal Highness Prince William and Miss Catherine (aka. Kate) Middleton.

Eclipse Movie Review

This third installment in the film series of the Twilight Saga was by far the best yet to take Stephenie Meyer's hugely popular book series to the big screen. What was most memorable by far was Jacob Black! Hello, shirtless much?! Jacob, played by 18-year-old Taylor Lautner, was for sure what most women in the audience were "ouuing and ahhing" about. But it's not only his muscle chops that Lautner has been working on, his character was by far the funniest in the film!

Slice on the Street - Ask a Guy: Dating Dealbreaker

We asked the ladies, now it's time to ask the fellas, what's your dating dealbreaker?

Ask An Expert: Gary, My Boyfriend Is Hooked On Pornography!

Q: In the past few months, my boyfriend has just started watching porn on his phone. He always used to say he didn't like it, but now he watches it when he's not around me. If he doesn't want to be with me why doesn't just leave? He said he loves me and doesn't know why he's doing it. Please help.

Ask An Expert: Gary, Should We Have Remained Common-Law?

Q: Hi there Gary, I had been with my husband for 10 years before we got married, but since we got married last year, he has become a different person. It’s hard for me to tell what the problem could be, but his mood gets very serious when he gets home from work, and he seems to be a different person.

Ask An Expert: Justin, I'm In A Long Distance Relationship And Need Your Advice!

Q: Hi there Justin, I wonder if I can get some advice. I'm not really sure how to word this, but there's someone a fair distance away from me, that I really love. I've known him, almost 2 years now (It'll be 2 years in March) The problem is, that under the circumstances my feelings cannot be returned. He knows my feelings, but he wants us to stay friends until we've met... Here is where things get... annoying. He's in the US Military - and I'm a simple small town girl in Ontario Canada. We've scheduled times before to meet, but the Military has butted in and made it so it cannot happen. This is what he's told me, and i believe him in completely.

Slice on the Street: Ask a Guy - Expressing Emotions

Sending the little "kiss" lips emoticon, or sending an I(heart symbol)you, are some ways many of us express our emotions over instant messaging or emails. In my dating past, I've found it seems men find it easier to say they like me, miss me, or call me a pet name like "cutie" over IM and emails as opposed to in person or on the phone. I've had long, wonderfully expressive chats with men over IM and then when it came time to talk on the phone it was awkward, quick, short and to the point.

Slice on the Street: Your Best or Worst Dating Experience

The experience of going on a date, whether it's your first date with someone new or not, can be exciting and fun. Butterflies, anxiety, nervouseness, excitment, happiness - these are often the things we hope for when dating someone we like or plan on getting to like. Your date can be a success if all goes right...but it can also be a disaster.

Ask an Expert: Justin & Annabelle, the Man I’ve Been Seeing Regularly Has Suddenly Dropped Out of the Picture!

This really special man that I have been seeing regularly for over a year has suddenly dropped out of the picture. He gave me no reason that he was not happy being with me and then just disappeared off the radar? I get occasional emails from him but that’s all! What should I do? How do I learn to let him go?

Awesome Dating Book Giveaway

They say, “If you love something, let it go.” We here at slice.ca prefer to say, “if you love something, let it go to someone who reads the Slice newsletter and can correctly answer a skill-testing question.”

Crushing On Your Co-Worker

Admit it; there is definitely someone at work you look at in “that way,” even just a little bit.

Baby Not On Board

Whether you’re in my situation – 31 yrs old, not married, but settled with the right person or single, it doesn’t mean that you should rush into a marriage, buy a house and pop out 2.5 kids in a record amount of time.

* Or Not

I met my boyfriend at a pub for a bite to eat before the Lacrosse game. I walked in, gave him a peck on the cheek. He stopped playing on the pinball machine long enough to toss my Valentine’s Day present on to the pub table.

How to Duck A Suckah

Have you ever felt that you used as a doormat in a previous relationship? How about the other night, when you had a fantastic one night stand that you thought would be a lasting relationship?

I'm Over You

There comes a moment, completely unexpectedly, when a lady can say to her ex boyfriend/husband/whatever, “I’m over you”.

Breaking Up is Hard to Do

It would seem that seething at your desk, eyes wet, ready to scream or break out sobbing is becoming a lost art.

May December

Are the days of a May December relationship inciting gossip behind us? Will we continue to raise an eyebrow? As with any relationship, it will either work like a charm or go down in flames.

The Whole Enchilada

To quote my bestie, “Why settle for half a burrito when you can have the whole enchilada?”

Real Life Romance… Or Not

Have you ever been on a date, got the vibe that he wasn’t all that interested in you, but he tried to put the moves on you anyway to see where he’d get? Wait, maybe you’ve done the same – gone out with someone to a point where you’re dating someone you’ll never want to settle with.

I Don't Need To Love You

A quick poll of the ladies, of every age, leads me to say we’re not all looking for love.

Token Male Finds Token Bride

You heard it here first, folks! I’m engaged! I know we just met last week, and I may have rankled some with my take on Reality Bites, but I’m bursting at the seams so I wanted to share a little engagement story with you:

Greg Behrendt's a Funny Guy

Even though he’s been doing stand up for 18 years, Greg Behrendt is probably best known for the book he co-wrote, He’s Just Not That Into You, while he was a consultant on Sex and the City.

Talking to the One?

You know that first moment you start talking to a guy – those few hours when he could be anyone or The One? The moment you’re sure he’s going to like the same food you do, that he wants to take you to some quaint neighbourhood resto that will end up being your favourite?

Road Trippin'

Low on money and inspiration? That was my thought when a friend and I realized we had no plans for the Canada Day long weekend. J-dawg and I debated flying to New York (too expensive) or driving to Montreal

A Foray into Cougardom

While I’m cautious about revealing my age – when exactly would I be considered a Cougar? I think it was the moment I lured an unsuspecting lamb into my little kitty den.

Second Year Bliss

For my two-year wedding anniversary, my challenge was to find a gift that thinks outside-the-box but keeps inside-my-budget.

Awkward moments: The boy you don’t like…

So, in my dating career, I’ve been on the end of a bit of rejection. After getting out of a long-term relationship about a year and a half ago, I decided it was time to "get back out there" and join some dating sites.
